LGFI and Lopez Lifelong Wellness Conduct Forum on Spiritual Wellness and its Value in the Workplace

In a fast-paced world where most people only think of is earning money and surviving each day, spiritual wellness, a very vital component of an individual’s holistic well-being, is often neglected.

Spiritual wellness is basically our relationship with God and how we integrate our beliefs and values with our daily living, be it at home or in the workplace.

In the purpose of stressing the importance of spiritual wellness in the Lopez Group, Lopez Group Foundation, Inc. and Lopez Lifelong Wellness invited Pastor Paul Chase, Senior Pastor of the Alabang New Life Christian Center, and Mr. Danilo Lachica, President of First Philec Solar Corporation, to talk in a forum on “Spiritual Wellness and its Value in the Workplace” held last May 26, 2010 at the Meralco Mini-Theater.

“Spiritual wellness is a personal journey and integral to a balanced life that involves values and beliefs…Underlying Spiritual Wellness is the idea that meaning and purpose in life spur us to take healthy, helpful action,” shared Rafael M. Alunan III, President of LGFI and Head of Lifelong, in his opening message.  He also highlighted how spirituality is practiced in the Lopez Group as what is indicated in the Lopez Credo and the CSR Magna Carta.  “As Lopez citizens, our religious faith, beliefs, principles, and morals define our spirituality,” he added.

Pastor Paul Chase started his lecture by making the audience understand the components of an individual – the physical body, the mind, and the spirit – and how important that each component should be properly and equally nourished.  He explained that spiritual wellness involves choosing our values to live by and that these values should not be compromised regardless of circumstance.  He also mentioned some principles to life that brings stability and happiness namely: hope, prayer, self-esteem, change, vision, and faith.

Meanwhile, Mr. Danilo Lachica shared the relevance of Spiritual Wellness in the workplace and how it has helped and continuous to help his company especially during tough times.  He shared testimonials from employees and discussed the recent struggles that First Philec Solar has encountered and was able to overcome.

Winners of the recently concluded Lopez Badminton tournament were also awarded during the event.
